Short take–BP looks for new spokesperson
Posted by TJ Walker in Analysis, CEOs/Financial, Communications, Crisis Communications, Media, Media Training on August 2, 2010
BP should look for someone who can say three things:
1. Here’s what we are doing to clean up the spill.
2. Here’s what we are doing to compensate people and organizations we have harmed.
3. Here’s what we are doing to make our business a lot safer so we never have big spills again.
And then has the discipline to keep his or her mouth shut!
Is Andy Griffith a good Spokesperson for the Democrats?
Posted by TJ Walker in Analysis, Communications, Public Speaking Skills on July 31, 2010
Absolutely! He has a law and order, traditional values image based on his Mayberry days and he has an excellent personal reputation. In fact, the Democrats from my home state of North Carolina tried to recruit Griffith for years to run against Jess Helms. By the way, if you want to know all you need to know about the modern rise of the Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Reilly crowd, then check out Griffith’s 1957 masterpiece “a Face in the Crowd,” one of my all-time favorite movies.
