Kathy Griffin Says She is Not a Bully
Posted by TJ Walker in Analysis, celebrities, Communications, Government & Politics, media relations, public relations, Video on March 10, 2011
Kathy Griffin maintains that she is not a Bully, even though Sarah and Willow Palin say she is. She says she knows the difference between comedy and bullying and that the Palins are in fact the real bullys.
Sarah Palin Gets into Tit for Tat Feud with Kathy Griffin
Posted by TJ Walker in Analysis, Best Speaker of the Day, blogging, Body Language, celebrities, CEOs/Financial, media relations on March 7, 2011
Is this reminiscent of the old Seinfeld episode where an annoying Kathy Griffin kind of comedian (played by Kathy Griffin) starts a feud with the more famous and more powerful Jerry Seinfeld. In the old sitcom, the feud becomes a staple of Griffin’s act and she spins everything the out-foxed Seinfeld says and does to her own favor.
Will history repeat itself? I’m betting so.
NRA Membership and Gun Ownership Exploding Among Women. Is It Because Of Sarah Palin?
Posted by TJ Walker in Analysis, Communications, Government & Politics on March 5, 2011

Palin may or may not be the next great Presidential candidate, but her effect on pop culture does not seem to be weakening.
Gun shops and the NRA membership committee are busier then ever because of more women clamoring to get their hands on guns. Why? The most common theory is that Palin has glamorized guns for gals through here recent reality show.
Does David Axelrod Know the Real Reason Why Sarah Palin Won’t Run for President?
Posted by TJ Walker in Analysis, Audio/Video Technology, Best Speaker of the Day, celebrities, Government & Politics on February 25, 2011

Here’s what David Axelrod told CNN this week when asked whether he thought Sarah Palin would run for President:
“I don’t know. She seems to be enjoying being Sarah Palin. Being Sarah Palin seems like a pretty good gig.
Whether she wants to give that up to be a candidate is something I can’t answer.”
According to Wonkette, Sarah Palin Has Secret Facbook Account ‘Lou Sarah’
Posted by TJ Walker in Analysis, blogging, Crisis Communications, Government & Politics, Social Media on February 23, 2011

This isn’t going to go down as the biggest crime of the century, but politicians need to realize that it’s only getting harder and harder to do sneaky stuff while hiding your identity.
Just like the Congressman who got caught without a shirt the other day because he used his real email address, apparently Sarah Palin used an email address for her ‘Lou Sarah’ Facebook page that was known to political insiders, some of whom are now her enemies.

Joan Rivers: FOX Can ‘Go F**k Themselves’ Over Sarah Palin Controversy
Posted by TJ Walker in Analysis, Best Speaker of the Day, blogging, Body Language, celebrities, CEOs/Financial on January 20, 2011

We might never know if Fox canceled Joan Rivers’ appearance because of comments she made about Sarah Palin. What we do know is that this is a great PR moment for Rivers.
Rivers strives to always be in the spotlight. A story like this not only keeps her in the headlines but also enables her to go on other talk shows to discuss what she is going through. Lets, be honest, not many people spend that much time thinking about Joan Rivers other than as a sideshow so getting bumped from Fox might be her chance to get some of the media spotlight turned on her before they get tired of her as most of us are of her act.
Gingrich to Palin: ‘Slow Down, Be a Lot More Careful’
Posted by TJ Walker in advertising, Analysis, Audio/Video Technology, Authors Corner, Best Speaker of the Day, blogging, Body Language, celebrities, CEOs/Financial on January 19, 2011

Isn’t this the days top example of the pot calling the kettle black. Gingrich seems to forget about some of the comments he made when he got into power in 1994. You also have to consider the source. Gingrich is not exactly unbiased when it comes to Palin considering that he might be running against her for the presidency in 2012.

Sarah Palin’s TV Show Not Coming Back for 2nd Season
Posted by TJ Walker in Analysis, Audio/Video Technology, Best Speaker of the Day, blogging, Body Language, celebrities, CEOs/Financial on January 10, 2011

Is there a big significance here? I don’t think so. Palin is making so much money in so many different places these days; it probably didn’t make sense for her to tie herself down to a TV schedule.
Plus, if she does decide to run for President, it mucks everything up because networks couldn’t run the show without giving equal time to all the other candidates—something they wouldn’t do.
Sarah Palin Re-tweets Message about “Homos”
Posted by TJ Walker in Analysis, blogging, celebrities, media relations, public relations, Social Media on January 4, 2011
What are the rules here and what should they be? Palin didn’t write “homo,” but she did re-tweet it. The person writing it was an out-of-the closet lesbian conservative commentator. I can’t imagine Obama re-tweeting a black guy using the n-word. So what should the rules be here> Please let me know what you think.

GOP Elites Start to Take Aim at Sarah Palin

The Wall Street Journal came out attacking Sarah Palin’s critique of Michelle Obama’s anti-obesity campaign. Anytime the Wall Street Journal seems to be defending a Democratic President or First lady there needs to be further analysis of the tea leaves. The Wall Street Journal all but called Palin a fool and an imbecile for attacking Michelle Obama on the obesity issue.
Here’s what’s really going on. The GO elite at the Wall Street Journal, like the GOP elite everywhere, are getting very nervous that Palin will win the nomination and lead the party to a Georg McGovern-style landslide loss. So the elites are starting to attack her now to weaken her chances of getting the nomination.
Bill O’Reilly To Sarah Palin: “Is That Presidential, You And Kate Gosselin In A Forest?” -VIDEO analysis

Bill O’Reilly had Sarah Palin on the Factor last night, and he wanted to know something many have wondered: are Palin’s TLC program and new book presidential, or might they hurt her politically? Palin, of course, didn’t seem concerned.
Conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer criticizes Sarah Palin and says she must get more practiced in public policy
Posted by TJ Walker in advertising, Analysis, Audio/Video Technology, Authors Corner, Best Speaker of the Day, blogging, Body Language, celebrities, CEOs/Financial on December 15, 2010
Sorry Charlie, but no she doesn’t. Palin is wildly loved by people who look down their nose at “policy wonks” and “egg heads” and “Washington elites.”
In other words, people like you Charlie. It is entirely possible that Palin wins the GOP nomination and more, without ever cracking another book, policy document or even newspaper in the next 3 years.
Sarah Palin co-stars with Kate Gosselin last night on TLC

Palin veers closer and closer to the land of tabloid pop culture. It begs the question, what would Palin have to do in order for her supporters to judge that she passed the line and is no longer a viable political figure? Doing a reality show didn’t hurt her. Doing a reality show with Kate Gosselin hasn’t seemed to hurt. What about a show with Playboy’s Kendra? or Flavor Flav? What if Palin posed nude for Playboy? I’m beginning to think her supporters would explain it away by claiming the photos were “tasteful” so the “lamesteam media” shouldn’t make a big deal over it.
Time Magazine Exclusive interview with Sarah Palin…or was it?
Posted by TJ Walker in celebrities, Government & Politics, Media, News on December 11, 2010

Time has a cover story on Sarah Palin, which normally implies hours and hours together in person with a subject. Or at least a few hours by phone. It turns out, this whole interview was done by email between a time reporter and Palin, or at least the reporter thinks it might have been Palin, but then it could have been Willow or Trig. I pity the poor news weekly trying to remain relevant in today’s 24/7 digital environment. Now candidates aren’t even willing to return their phone calls. With US News and Newsweek getting sucked up into a black hole (definitely not black ink!) can Time be far behind?

Tea Party starting campaign to install Sarah Palin as head of RNC
Posted by TJ Walker in Communications, Government & Politics, media relations, Media Training, Presentation Skills Training, public relations on December 6, 2010
I hate to break it to the geniuses at the Tea party, but Sarah Palin already is the de facto head of the Republican Party. She gets more airtime than anyone else and is therefore, essentially, the lead spokesperson for the party and for conservatism in America. Naming her actual head of the party would just be superfluous. More at Mediaite.
