The unemployment rate in the US will affect the 2012 Presidential elections, Obama’s campaigning and greatly influence his opponents.

Here’s the latest evidence that nothing has changed in post-Tucson America: A person at a Tuesday town hall with Rep. Paul Broun, R-Ga., got up and asked, “Who is going to shoot President Obama?”

ABC Reporter Attempts To Explain The Budget With $100 In Pennies -VIDEO

Give ABC’s Jonathan Karl some credit. The guy’s creative–and willing to risk the snarky ridicule of those media websites. In an effort to explain the federal budget, Karl got his hands on $100 in pennies, and then proceded to cover a conference room table with them–all divided up according to the spending in the president’s budget.

Ann Coulter, Sound Bite Queen
Posted by TJ Walker in Analysis, Best Speaker of the Day, blogging, Body Language, celebrities, Government & Politics, Politics on February 14, 2011
Once again Ann Coulter stole the show at the annual conservative gathering in Washington known as CPAC. 10,000 conservative activists listened to dozens of presidential candidates and pundits. Here’s an example of what made Coulter so popular:
“[President Obama] turned over our entire healthcare system to the Department of Motor Vehicles. You know those interminable lines at the DMV. Now imagine you’re standing in one of those lines, but this time you’re in a hospital gown that’s open in back. That’s Obamacare.”

NJ Governor Chris Christie Now the Only Republican Beating Obama in Polls
Posted by TJ Walker in Analysis, CEOs/Financial, Communications, Government & Politics, News, Politics on January 5, 2011

Why is Chris Christie doing better in the polls against Obama than other well-known Republican candidates? After all, he’s not as good looking as Sarah Palin or as svelte as Mitt Romney.
Chris Christie is ahead in the polls for one reason: he’s a great communicator.
He’s strong, forceful, clear, easy to understand and memorable. He doesn’t have any of the right-wing social issue stuff that scares off moderates and independents, yet he is a tough former prosecutor and fiscal conservative so he has widespread appeal to traditional conservative republicans as well. I think Christie has great appeal to moderates and independents because he seems less inclined to demagogue phony issues like gays in the military and other such nonsense.
China Bans Use of NBA and Other English Words
Posted by TJ Walker in Communications, Government & Politics, Media, News, Politics on December 24, 2010
China continues its top-down approach to controlling culture. Banning words is a surefire sign of insecure cultures and people with inferiority complexes. Generally, the more words a language has, the richer its citizens become.
Imagine if President Obama tried to ban a word from the English language. He’d be impeached on the grounds of insanity.
Paul Krugman Claims Obama’s Rhetoric is Killing Him Politically
Posted by TJ Walker in Communications, Crisis Communications, Government & Politics, Presentation Skills Training, public relations, Public Speaking Skills, reputation management on December 20, 2010
Paul Krugman makes a great case that Obama’s incessant rhetorical overtures to Republicans, i.e. praising Ronald Reagan and his policies, has had a counterproductive result. Krugman maintains that Obama is providing cover for his ideological enemies and enabling economic policies against his administration’s interests. Krugman also points out that you never hear a conservative or a Republican praising the economic policies of FDR.
Great points. Yes, there is a need for civility and bi-partisanship in politics, but if you are constantly praising your ideological adversaries, your own arguments will begin to lose their punch.
Terrence Lakin, The Army Birther, Is Sentenced To Six Months

Lieutenant Colonel Terrence Lakin had a lot to say when it came to declaring that President Obama was not an American born citizen. So much to say that he refused to deploy into Afghanistan and now will face a sentence of six months in jail and dismissal from the Army.
Lakin is joining a long line of individuals who are living their lives with blinders on to the facts and reality that President Obama was indeed born here in the good ole USA. He now pays for this belief with his job and gets to spend half a year in jail.
Presidents and holidays – Obama to delay his Christmas?
Posted by TJ Walker in advertising, Analysis, Audio/Video Technology, Authors Corner, Best Speaker of the Day, blogging, Body Language, celebrities, CEOs/Financial, Communications, Crisis Communications, Government & Politics on December 15, 2010
President Obama is slated to start his Christmas holiday by flying to Hawaii on Saturday. But with the Senate likely to stay in session passed that date, Obama has wisely decided to postpone his vacation as well.
Presidents want and need to have vacations; all of Obama’s predecessors have taken them (George Bush was especially good at vacationing). However, Obama does need to be careful about living it up during a time of near double digit unemployment and near depression like conditions for tens of millions of Americans.

Obama makes speaking blunder: Calls Senator Mitch McConnell “Mike”
Posted by TJ Walker in Communications, Government & Politics, Politics, public relations, reputation management on December 13, 2010
Mistakes like this stand out because they are so rare for Obama. Still, it’s a little embarrassing. Something tells me Obama is going to have to get on a first name basis with more Republican Leaders in the coming year.
