It came down to a razor-slim margin of votes Tuesday night (January 3) between former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and former Senator Rick Santorum.
Romney came out on top after running in a tie with Santorum at 25 percent of the vote for much of the night, winning the Iowa caucus by only eight votes with north of 122,000 voters turning out.

A Penn State assistant football coach testified Friday that he believes he saw former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky sexually molesting a boy but said he wasn’t 100 percent sure it was intercourse.
Mike McQueary, speaking for the first time in public about the 2002 encounter in a Penn State locker room, said he believes that Sandusky was attacking the child with his hands around the boy’s waist. He also said there was no doubt in his mind that he fully conveyed what he had seen to two Penn State administrators now accused of lying to a grand jury about what McQueary told them.

Major League Baseball created and passed a dress code for members of the media on Tuesday, putting the guidelines in writing on the second day of the Winter Meetings in Dallas.
The guidelines are the first of its kind among the four major North American professional sports leagues (MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL) and implements a standard of dress for media members. It is an attempt to maintain a level of professionalism during the hot summer months when clothes have a tendency to get skimpier.
