It doesn’t matter if you are interviewed by a reporter for 5 minutes or 50 minutes the goal you should have is to get as many quotes and sound bites into a story as possible.

NY Times Claims Fox is Thinking of Dumping Glenn Beck

Are Beck’s days numbered at Fox? True, his audience has shrunk by a million people in recent times but let’s not forget that his audience is still larger then all of his competitors COMBINED. The bigger problem for Beck is that advertisers are fleeing.
I think Beck is still several trips to the woodshed away from ever being removed from Fox. True, Beck is making tens of millions of dollars a year from his other media ventures unrelated to Fox (according to the NYTimes), so he doesn’t need Fox. Still, his fat multi-million dollar contract does buy a lot of gold, ammunition and bunker space for the Beck clan, so I predict he will pull it together and stay just this side of crazy land in order to keep his show on Fox.

Is Fox News Answering Its Critics by Hiring John Roberts from CNN?
Posted by TJ Walker in Analysis, Audio/Video Technology, Body Language, celebrities, Communications, Crisis Communications on January 3, 2011

John Roberts almost replaced Dan Rather as the CBS Evening News Anchor a few years back. Roberts has been a big-time network news reporter and anchor for two decades and, as far as I can see, has no discernible right-wing bias.
So for Fox to hire Roberts as a national correspondent would help them with their critics. And it is likely to improve the quality of Fox broadcasts as well. Roberts has always been fair to me when he interviewed me at CNN. I hope he finds a good home at Fox.
Fox News Channel Beats CNN and MSNBC Combined!

Hats off to our friends over at Fox News for an impressive feat. What is the real lesson here? I think that in a world where anyone can have a Google News Reader for free and read all breaking news stories on AP, Reuters and all other major media sources as fast as any TV producer, it is critical to provide something more than straight news.
Simply put, there’s no real reason to tune into CNN at most times of the day when it is far faster and easier to just go to your RSS feed and see all the headlines for yourself. Whether you love Fox or not, they are undeniably providing something beyond straight, bland regurgitation of news facts that are seen elsewhere. The world knows what Fox’s value-add is to news. What does CNN or MSNBC add? That is much less apparent.

What’s going on here? It is true that is you squint your eyes in just the right way, CNN does have more viewers. But not in any meaningful way that advertisers care about. Fox is the top dog. However, CNN is still a huge and wildly successful global multi-media platform, if you consider their international channels, their online presence, etc, etc etc. just don’t talk about Parker-Spitzer.

Rupert Murdoch might not be a big fan of the Obama Administration, but at least he never has to worry about Roger Ailes, Bill O’Reilly, and Glenn Beck being dragged off to an FCC prison and Fox News being taken off cable system across America. More on what happened in Iran at Fox News.
War between Fox owned “Simpson” and Fox owned Fox News Channel continues
The latest Simpson attack on Fox had this as a new slogan on a cartoon Fox news Helicopter “Unsuitable for viewers Under 75.” I can hardly wait to see how Nill O’Reilly reacts to this. Once again, Simpson’s writers are making a wickedly sharp attack, that’s also funny, because it has an element of truth to it.
