The NYTimes reports that HP’s Pr firm made a strong case for sacking CEO Mark Hurd. From a PR standpoint, the media mess would not have been worth the fight to defend Hurd, never mind that no actual sex took place in the “affair.” It looks like bad news for HP investors is at least good news for the PR industry being taken more seriously.
Forbes announces that some of its bloggers will be paid based on page views. While I do believe in using metrics and holding people accountable, I think we can safely predict a rise in the number of stories with titles such as “Is Megan Fox a rising twitter star?” and “The economics of Brittany Spears naked photos on her fan page.”
So Levi Johnston is running for mayor of Wasilla as part of a new reality TV show. Perhaps he is a part of the Palin DNA in more ways than one now.
Did you see the news about the flight attendant who was so angry at an unruly customer that he shouted “F**k you” into the loudspeaker and made a quick getaway via the emergency inflatable slide? There are already Facebook fan pages sprouting up to honor him. America has found its new Howard Beale. Prediction: This guy will get at least 30 minutes of fame out of this, talk shows, a couple of commercials and at least a half season of a reality show.
So Rand Paul is threatening to sue GQ for writing that he kidnapped a girl when he was in college, forced her to smoke pot and praise a strange God. Interestingly, Paul isn’t denying the charges. Aren’t frivolous lawsuits against businesses supposed to be the thing libertarians are against?
